Takabonerate - The Coral Heaven

Not many know that the National Park Takabonerate, Selayar Island regency, South Sulawesi, lays the 3rd largest coral islands in the world after Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands and the Maldives Islands Suvadiva. If you already visited the center in Bulukumba pinisi boats don’t forget to cross the wade into these waters.

Waves slapping wooden ship with capacity 20 people were slowly tame. The traveler's eyes fixed on the sea that glowed in the distance. Gradations of blue and green water surrounded the coral that pops up. "Wow, is that atoll (coral)," asked Piotr Kordas (30), a tourist from Poland with a tone of awe.

Atoll is one type of coral islands are formed from skeletons of sea creatures is microscopic.

With the broad reach 220,000 hectares, atoll in the Flores Sea is like a strand lapislazuli and emeralds are "embeddable" in a stretch of ocean. In fact, the photos are scattered on various internet pages were not able to compete in this atoll sensation when witnessed firsthand.

As an initial illustration, look at the map. From Makassar boat sail 240 kilometers to the southeast or five-hour overland journey to Bulukumba. From there, you can wade through the Bira Port to Pamatata Port - Selayar Island with distance of 80 kilometers or about two hours away by fast boat.

Arriving at Pamatata, continue road trip as far as 60 kilometers or an hour towards the Citadel, the district capital Selayar Islands. Then, from Pier Pattumbukang at the Fort, visitors return to the region crossed Takabonerate. Two islands that could be an option is Jinato and Tinabo Great equally are pursued through the eight-hour cruise with a timber ship.

To save time, available Sabang Merauke Air Charter aircraft this flies Makassar-Selayar. By plane with22 people capacity, you can arrive at the airport Aroepalla, Selayar, within 40 minutes.

Sailing into Takabonerate is actually comparable to the experience on board. When I visit in order Takabonerate Festival, 19-22 November, there are sunny weather and relatively calm seas. However, South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo have to deal with bad weather and big waves that pick up the helicopter finally get to the island Jinato.

Weather and waves that cannot be predicted is one of the challenges to get to this location. You choose the sea route should prepare the drug.

Heaven atoll

As the name implies, Takabonerate means coral island in the sand. Coral species in this area is the coral reef barrier (barrier reef), fringing reefs (fringing reef), and coral reefs ring (atoll).

The three types of reefs are composed by biodiversity, ranging from live coral, dead coral, algae, seagrass beds, up to a mound of sand or Bungin (sand dunes). Coral is home to at least 362 species of reef fish, such as from family Chaetodontidae, Labridae, Scaridae, and 261 types of coral.

Coming to Takabonerate is mean preparing for a challenging marine tourism. In addition to the atoll, in the national park there are 21 grouping of islands that seven of them uninhabited. To explore it, we only have an option of motorized wooden boats.

One of the goals in Takabonerate certainly Tinabo Big Island, treats the main attractions in this area. From a distance, a wooden pier, a row of palm islands, white sand as soft as flour and waving as if to immediately approach.

Clear water and soft corals that we can enjoy with the naked eye. No wonder Piotr Kordas was immediately tempted to try snorkeling in this place.

Compared to other islands, a new island that has been equipped lodging and post-run monitoring Takabonerate National Park just the Tinabo Besar Island. Departing from here, visitors can go to-22 point dive to explore the underwater panorama, including seeing sharks (Sphyrna spp) to grouper from close range.

Various activities are also prepared to fill the time, such as tree planting and transplanting corals. The beauty of this island can be enjoyed even by walking along the beach area of five hectares.

Tinabo Besar is an option if you want to drown yourself in the peace of the island. Visitors can take a tour package offered by Hall TN Takabonerate with tariff Rp 800,000 to Rp 1 million per day. This includes the cost of transportation from the Citadel to Tinabo, accommodation, meals, and delivery to the point of the dive. Some travel agents who managed foreign businessmen also offer a similar package, but certainly in the U.S. dollar exchange rate.

If you want a memorable vacation, stay at home everyday people to explore and Bajoe Bugis who settled on the island. Some islands are usually visited by tourists are the Island and Island Rajuni Jinato.

Jinato island inhabited by 1327 the majority of residents work as fishermen. This place also hosts the Festival Takabonerate. Residents receive visitors who come to stay in their homes. At leisure, you can mingle with people who will be happy to serve coffee or tea.

Struggle

Takabonerate do require travel to struggle and patience. Limited facilities and infrastructure, such as fresh water, resort, and telecommunications signals on the island is a challenge to develop tourism. Ships as the only mainstay for Takabonerate to be hired at a cost of Rp 2 million. Because there is no regular shipping.

Long and expensive journey sometimes makes tourists prefer traveling in Selayar no less seductive. Selayar east coast, for example, is known as a diving point dive junkies.

Jowvy Kumala (41), employees of telecommunications companies in Makassar, took a dive on the east coast prior to Takabonerate. "Its Biota is interesting because a lot of big fish. Feeling at home the fish could see the white shark fins and fish bumphead close, "said the woman who had to dive in Bunaken National Park and the Raja Ampat.

Tourism in Selayar can be solace for those who failed went to Takabonerate. This is the mission that was carried at least the local government. "To build a marine tourism, we started from because for the first Selayar Takabonerate is difficult," said Regent Selayar Syahrir Wahab.

In Selayar, do not forget to buy emping, one of domestic food in Takabonerate. Then, when returning to Bulukumba is time to stop at Bira Peninsula (known as a center for pinisi boat building). In this area are also available pinisi miniatures.

With emping, pinisi miniature, and shipping certainly it is hard to forget the sensation Selayar and surrounding areas.

Krast Maros - World Heritage in The Land of Celebes - Indonesia

Rows cluster rock cliffs towering into the sky and stretching up to 43,750 hectares. Synergy with the blue sky contrasting with the green vegetation that is still natural and shaded by a thin mist, making the atmosphere was quiet, quiet, but romantic and mystical impressed. Yup! The impression that I felt when my first set foot in the Karst Maros areas (tower karst) or better known as the Stone Forest which was named the second largest and most beautiful in the world.

Stone Forest is a world heritage which is formed from the dissolution of limestone occurred thousands of years ago. Located on the road axis between the Makassar-Toraja tourists sites makes this a beautiful natural panorama of natural parks that are served to everyone who crossed the road trans-Sulawesi. However, world-class attraction is still not too in exposed so rarely visited by tourists. Though this saves a lot of uniqueness that can only be found in the region is world heritage.

It is Located in the village hamlets salengrang ramang-ramang, Maros regency, South Sulawesi. Karst Maros area can be reached by land transportation from the city of Makassar approximately 1.5 hours. Then to go into the forest of stone, we must use a local fishing boat to pass through the mangrove forest that blends with palm and pandanus trees that grow wild in the left-right path that we've been through. Occasionally we passed the rocky cliffs are home to Salalah habitat of one type of eagle. But what makes me more amazed again as it passes through a tunnel of huge chunks of rock that formed naturally. A ride on this boat takes approximately half an hour.

Uniqueness Karst Maros
When I first set foot in the forests of our stones are treated to harsh landscape of rocky cliffs that rose and green vegetation that is still meeting. But there are some interesting things can we meet this region. Including the following;

Goa-Goa, amounting to 268 and is the prehistoric site of the World.
Not only the beautiful stalactite and stalagmite caves served by existing Maros karst region, but the cave ornaments are formed from the leaching of carbonate rocks naturally makes it more beautiful caves to explore in deeper. Plus paintings on cave walls that are relics of prehistoric times, as well as some relics such as pottery and arrowheads that are serrated tools humans in prehistoric times. other than that here also discovered the longest cave in Indonesia, namely Salukkan Kallang cave, which extends for 27 km. as well as the deepest cave in Indonesia in the form of single wells, as deep as 260 meters in Leang Leaputte.
Rare biota danEndemik

In addition to the charming landscape and prehistoric relics are still preserved. Stone forest area is also saving rare and endemic biota, among which only one in the world. There are black monkey (Macaca Maura) and 125 species of rare butterflies. But there are some animals that tegolong very rare and has not been identified, such as the spider cave new species of palms of the hands of adults, blind cave fish are transparent, spider crab, branch-nosed bats, blind cave shrimp who was transparent, several types of crickets cave that has not been identified, and several other endemic animals.

Stone forest area is very wide. The wide to pass through several counties in southern Sulawesi, it is still an area with national park Bantimurung that in a claim by a British researcher Alfred Russel Wallace, as a natural butterfly palace largest and most comprehensive in the world. other than that this region still many other unique things, it's just a very broad area into two after the china has not been too in the explore by local government

7 Enchantment of Siem Reap

Siem Reap, the former army headquarters city of the country controlled by bloodthirsty ruler of the Khmer Rouge, now developed wonderfully into an international tourist destination. Even Siem Reap obtain status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven New Wonders of the World. Though only 20 years ago this area off limits to tourists, local residents were terrorized and dominated by the fear of one of the most brutal regimes in the world.

Today, with ancient ruins in the area of Angkor Wat, Siem Reap, a city that is alive and in 2007 received nearly one million visitors through its international airport. While Angkor Wat is the central attraction, but that does not mean the city of Siem Reap do not get attention, by having the facilities of restaurants, museums and galleries the best in the region.

Amazing Angkor Wat
Angkor Wat temple is the largest, most well maintained, has the most intricate designs and most admirable in Indochina, a jewel in the crown of a vast kingdom of Angkor. The temple is a source of national pride and international recognition, encased reliefs of the Hindu epic Ramayana. Like most Hindu temples in Asia, Angkor Wat looks more beautiful at dawn or before sunset, when the sky filled with colors that highlight the five towers.

Nine Figures
For the first Asian to know you have to understand the trust on the continent, and this is seen clearly in the environment of Angkor Thom, a temple that was glued to the number nine. Saying "nine" is similar to the word "development", and almost everything on the temple can be compared to this figure - 54 towers carved, 216 faces in the tower, 54 gods to the left of the entrance, and 54 demons on his right - all these figures can be added up to a point 9.

Once you climb the stone steps to the shrine inside the temple, when looking up will appear hundreds of stone carving faces looking at you. There is also Banteay Srei, a temple filled with amazing carvings fulfill every inch of stone there. Even with current technology, almost impossible to make the patterns as precisely and as complex as it is in stone sculpture.

River Revitalization
About 50 km northeast of Siem Reap, there is the Thousand Linga River flows into the river in Siem Reap are essentially filled with carvings Linga - the symbol of phallus which is very common in Cambodia. Estimates, carvings were made between 1100-1300 to symbolize fertility. Now the river is a perfect place to enjoy the tropical beauty of Siem Reap.

6 Unique Basement

Seattle Underground

Seattle has a fascinating underground district that’s more well-known than most others. Pioneer Square was the birthplace of Seattle; the district was built on filled-in tidelands in the very early days of the city. After 25 city blocks were destroyed in the Great Seattle Fire of 1889, Seattle officials made two important decisions: all new buildings must be made of stone or brick, and the rebuilt area would be one to two stories higher than the original buildings.

Path, Canada

PATH is not only well-known; it’s openly advertised as the largest underground shopping complex in the world. While Toronto’s subterranean passageways aren’t exactly hidden or mysterious, they are still quite interesting. The origins of the network can be traced back to the early 20th century, when stores built simple underground passages to get shoppers from one location to another. Then, in the 1960s city planners decided to un-clog the crowded downtown sidewalks by moving shopping centers underground. The massive 17 mile network is almost like an entire city on its own with shopping facilities, restaurants, banks, entertainment and public transport all linked up.

Double Dekker city, Canada

Montreal boasts its own substantial underground area known as RESO. It is said to be the largest underground complex in the world at over 4.6 square miles. Taking shops and public transit link-ups underground helps to keep travelers out of the often-harsh Quebec weather, and the complex is also an important destination for many tourists. But permanent residents of the city tend to see the subterranean network as just another part of Montral.

SubTropolis

Another record-setting underground space is SubTropolis, a huge former limestone mine resting beneath the ground of Kansas City, Missouri. Occupying 55 million square feet, the man-made cave is what was left over after a 270-million-year-old limestone deposit was mined out of the area. The resulting space is climate-controlled, protected from the elements and stable enough that the USPS rents space there. With offices, storage and industrial outfits occupying the rental units, SubTropolis’ owners have trademarked the phrase World’s Largest Underground Business Complex.

Coober Pedy, South Australia

It’s not always economics that drive a city to build underground. Coober Pedy residents choose to live underground to escape the brutal daytime desert heat of the world above ground. Most locals choose to live in “dugouts,” or underground homes literally dug out of the landscape with picks and shovels. Digging out an underground home in the town costs about the same as building an above-ground one, though since the town is known as the opal capital of the world there have been plenty of reports of diggers paying for the entire cost of their new home with opals they find during the digging process.

Cappadocia, Turki

Like the residents of Coober Pedy, the people who settled what is now called Cappadocia, Turkey retreated underground due to the nature of the land. There was little to build with in the area, so residents simply carved homes out of the stone. The cave-like homes have existed for thousands of years and passed between many countries’ hands, but they have remained strong and sturdy.

Lawang Sewu Sensation Night Tour!

Lawang Sewu is a building in Semarang, Central Java, which is the office of the Nederlands-Indische Maatschappij Spoorweg or NIS. Built in 1904 and completed in 1907. Tugu Muda is located at the first roundabout called Wilhelmina Plein.

Local people call it Lawang Sewu (Thousand Door). This is because the building has a lot of doors (in fact the door that there was not until a thousand, maybe also because the window height and width of this building, people also consider it as a door).

Occasionally used as a place of exhibition, among them Expo.Pernah Semarang Tourism Expo and there is also a discourse that wants to turn it into a hotel. In 2007, the building was also used to film with the same title with the building.

The presence of vessel drowning [London Trinity]

According to one local resident, in one of the chunks of iron that never lifted, found the words "london seriti". Could it be the name of the ship? But of course the word seriti is questionable. Because it does not exist in English dictionaries. Possible name is "London trinity". If the allegations are true, then the vessel is clearly a British ship.

Based on the remaining tracks, an iron vessel over a length of 75 meters it is obvious because steamship wrecks found around coal and charcoal, which began to harden. This conjecture is strengthened by the stories that until the year 1980 the population of the chimney of the vessel is still sticking to the surface. Many fishermen, who often stop or boats moored in the chimney.

From the pile of wood started to decay, are found around the hull, it became clear also that the bulkhead-room bulkhead and floor made of wooden ships. Unfortunately we still difficult to reconstruct the form of the vessel are due to the remaining living either side of the hull which is still buried underneath the sand. Keep digging to find out the shape of the ship.

Buried treasure
Selayar District consists of 132 islands and 26 new human-inhabited islands. Area of 10503.69 square kilometers (km2), consists of land area of 1357 km2 and the rest is the sea area (9146.66 km2). Broad and beautiful ocean is very possible development of marine tourism, fisheries, mining and minerals and offshore oil.
Treasure in this area quite a lot. However, has not lifted its full potential. For example, several regents said the findings alleged relics of ancient ceramic china dynasty. "Has anyone found, but no investors were interested lift them," said regents said, showing examples of ancient pottery stored in his office closet.

Experts interpret the history, culture gong nekara a Bronze Age relics. She was estimated to be around 2000 years. Gong was found in a royal serf peasant named saburu year 1686. Because the kingdom is found in soil, until the gong in 1760 this became the royal heirloom.

Gong has three functions of his time, namely the function of religious, social, cultural, and political. Religious functions namely as a means of communication, ceremonies, and symbols. Meanwhile, the social function of culture as a symbol of social status, ceremonial device, and works of art that have the magical power of the religious. While the political function is as a sign of danger or hint of war.

Not only gongs, in Selayar also found an anchor that is believed to be the largest and longest of its era. The anchor is now stored in the desert fishing village. The anchor is equipped with cannon that are thought to be relics of Chinese traders in the 17-18 century.

Indeed Bromo is Beautiful

Indeed Bromo is Beautiful

A boy who became a jockey horse rentals are waiting for tourists who will ride horses around Mount Bromo, Probolinggo, East Java.

Bromo has a beautiful view. Enjoy this time in the Bromo’s sunrise that he is very interesting. There to go to the top it has to pass through the desert that is wide enough. But someone said all tired; tired of going to pay off when it reached the top. And for years there was a series of "supposed" to fill my mind when the name referred to Bromo Mount. Until that opportunity comes.

Late afternoon in early 2010 I started my journey to Bromo. I am not alone. There are 3 other colleagues who want to spend the holidays there early. But because the location of different places we lived determines the point where the points would be met. Although the actual one-way. I began the journey from the city while the third Tulungagung colleagues began the journey from Yogyakarta. Our meeting point is the junction agreed Brakan Kertosono area. This is where the meeting point of the South and West.

This is my first trip to Bromo. Given the limited information and in particular the time so we decided to use travel agents travel. Although there are pros and cons actually use these services. Three of my colleagues started to depart from Yogyakarta at 8 AM. If there is no significant obstruction at 2 pm had arrived in Kertosono. From the calculations that I decided to leave at noon so until 2 o'clock in the afternoon had arrived at the meeting point.

Inter-city buses in the provincial departments Surabaya take my trip. In normal conditions the trip from Tulungagung to Kertosono takes less than 2 hours. The bus drove through the streets in the city and turned northward toward the town of Kediri. When it entered the street the bus is usually traveling at a high enough. Passing the Old Hospital which is now the Health Department office Tulungagung, Detention, Rejoagung Stadium, and drove over the bridge Ngujang. Ngujang is quite familiar location for the residents and the surrounding Tulungagung. There are many things associated with this place starting from the grave china, petty localization to the existence of a supposedly flock monkey shit he says so. This is where sometimes there are people who perform rituals in hope of prosperity or the triumph of instant way.

The bus drove through the route Ngantru district, Kras District, District NGADILUWIH to enter the terminal town of Kediri. On the highway to this terminal on the right before the bridge exactly at the intersection of the square of this city know we can find the Great Mosque of Kediri. Regarding the mosque there is an interesting fact in this city. Most of the mosques here have a towering tower. The buses soon stopped at the terminal and proceed directly to Surabaya.

The drive from Kediri to Kertosono terminal does not take much. About half an hour I had already arrived in Kertosono. Total travel time I was more than a half hour. I mean come much more quickly than predicted. Until I had used the time to rest and start praying.

At a roadside stall I'm enjoying a cup of hot coffee and fried tape. Day was pretty hot even in black clouds started to cover. Of course I hope that despite the bad weather late afternoon sunny weather tomorrow morning. So I can get the photos interesting.

Wait is boring. Apparently travel that brings the three of my colleagues had not come. I also removed the shade at the edge of boredom mosque while talking with a seller meatball. Apparently there are many things that I got.

Nothing seemed time went on and the vehicle that carried my three friends arrived. Apparently 3 people besides my colleagues there are 3 more people. They have a young mother with two daughters. We also went on though the vehicle had stopped. We have to take another car.

Afternoon slowly began to change tonight. Vehicles kept going between the rainy streets. We crossed the Jombang, Mojokerto, Pasuruan, Probolinggo until later headed. When the vehicle Jombang city split on either side of the road appears red and white flag placed at half mast. Two days ago the New Year ahead of a son of the best people ever born in Jombang passed away.

The vehicle drove on the road to Probolinggo up in a vehicle travel agent stopped the program. We went down to check our tickets and receive a short briefing about tomorrow's sunrise tour. We were given a briefing on the location of temperature, time travel and where we will stay.

After all the debriefing is complete we continue the journey. This time used a different car. Field which we passed seemed too different. The road now began to climb. The journey takes approximately one hour to the villa where we would stay. Along the way I talked to many drivers who take us. Apparently they also offer tours to the crater of Ijen approximately 6 hours drive again.

Finally we arrived at the villa where we stayed. According to the briefing that we received this thing in the morning at about half 3 we would be woken. Jeep drive to the place where can see the sunrise. In front of a place to stay already lined up the trinkets seller. They sell the headgear and gloves. There is also offering to rent his jacket. Although time has not so late, I and the group decided to rest early. We want to be fresh tomorrow morning to enjoy this holiday.

Early in the morning the officer who would take us already was knocking on doors. We had to prepare the goods and equipment. The camera and all the equipment I have not missed entries. The seven of us ride in a jeep. Early in the morning we went mountain climbing. The day was quite a lot of visitors at this resort. It can be seen from the car that single-file like a snake. We did not get to the top. THE nearest car parking space must be stopped and the journey continued with the ride motorcycles, although it was not so far away.

After the ride motorcycles we continued on foot to the top of the mountain climbing. The cold stung enough already to greet us. It turned out that the above is that there are many people in droves to wait at sunrise. Sayapun find the most strategic locations where can i get a good picture.

After the break between the crowds I get a good enough position. I descended the slope and stood in an open place near a tent set up by a group of nature lovers. Well it's true those words from here I could see the smoke-covered Bromo. From here I can see the sun slowly appeared. Collect the yellow color of the small dots grew larger. I so enjoyed the first location of this Bromo tour.

Sumba, Man Eater Betel and About Grave Stones ...

Sumba, Man Eater Betel and About Grave Stones ...

Meets the first time with the men who go everywhere with a machete at the waist with a red mouth because betel no doubt make me so confused, too. That's probably my first impression when i visited several villages in the interior West Sumba in the province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT/Nusa Tenggara Timur) in the context of malaria research for 4 years in this place.

The men started from teenagers to senior citizens who have, and then passing with a machete, but eventually I knew that for them the machete is a symbol of manhood, is also a symbol of respect. A village head before we went immediately rushed into the house wearing a distinctive Sumba woven sarong, carrying machetes welcomed us pride.

And what most impressed me was the habit of chewing betel nut men Sumba. If elsewhere the common betel is women, so here also is the betel habit of men. Chewing betel nut may be similar to smoking. It feels incomplete if they do not chew betel.

They believe that in addition to delicious, healthy betel also turned out to be a drug even. Though when I tried to force to swallow because bitter taste in my mouth. The habit of chewing betel nut was not only done in the village, but it is very common in the employees in such districts weetabula city, capital of the southwestern Sumba chewing betel.

Another interesting thing from my trip to the hamlets throughout Sumba is about the grave. If on the other graves are usually far from the settlement in Sumba is usually built on the grave yard. Graves with construction as the box with a cover of stone. Formerly the stones used to build the tombs are natural stones are cut.

You can imagine how many animals are sacrificed for the making of the grave only. But now many have made such grave cement casted. Interestingly that generally remained grave built not far from their home neighborhoods and built for one family.

I had asked a Ratenggarong chief who was considered one of the old villages in West Sumba related resources of this unique cemetery. Apart from that so that has been inherited by hereditary custom he again builds stone tombs especially large and expensive with a big party it is also a proud family.

That the grave yard of the house was built, it is a manifestation of their love of the people who have gone to stay close and always be remembered. Also in another hamlet I can explain that they are saving the grave in front of the house as an indication that the family is buried there is the owner of the land where the cemetery is located.

Unique, I sometimes compare the cultures of Sumba in Toraja. There are some similarities. People Sumba and Toraja people both Christian majority but felt that the influence of custom is still very strong. For example in the matter of death and rituals. Held with great fanfare at the expense of so many farm animals such as buffalo and pigs, and in particular in Sumba is also a horse. Said a friend of Sumba, the whole issue here should be completed by a new old tradition brought to the church. How strongly they hold customary.

In Sumba are many amazing things. Exotic nature. Savanna and grassland. The horses are running free with red lips smile population.

Tradition Festival, when the knights in the battle against the agility of a stick javelin. Until the tradition of "beilis", dowries breast milk substitutes to be paid a man if you want to marry the girl of Sumba. Also a tradition to gather Nyale exotic beaches and the sea on the coast of West Sumba and West Sumba is so powerful and still a virgin. Not to mention the distinctive Sumba woven with color and exotic motifs.

Maybe next time will be narrated, and from our Sumba menitip love for all Kompasianer in Indonesia, hopefully one day can visit here.

Kak Liang Pha

Kilimanjaro National Park Without Trash

Kilimanjaro National Park Without Trash

Located 340 km south of the equator, Mount Kilimanjaro is one of the three mountain open to the eternal snow on the equator, in addition to Cayambe in Ecuador and the Puncak Jaya in Indonesia.

As the main object in Tanzania and the symbols of the countries of East Africa, the Kilimanjaro region in 1973 made the National Park, and in 1987 Kilimanjaro National Park (KINAPA) is recognized as a World Natural Heritage by the United Nations. Currently, Kilimanjaro region with Kibo Peak (5895 m above sea level) as the highest roof of the African continent was visited by more than 35,000 visitors each year.

Various accessibility, accommodation, security, and professional guide services, enabling more and more people enjoy the natural beauty of this increasingly rare. Kilimanjaro as a world natural heritage and to clean themselves in the last 4 years increased more tourists visit tripled. It’s so awsome.

Observing nature management in Kili, the way in the mission "Kilimanjaro for Lupus" continues to create awe and envy. Tanzania, a developing country with over 30 percent of the population below the poverty line, capable of highly disciplined. Marangu Gate is one of the 7 routes to the top of Kilimanjaro climbing at an altitude of 1800 m. The building manager's offices met with officials of the 3 candidates are lining up neatly climbers.

Small kiosk in front of him, complete with climbing up to the needs of souvenir merchandise. Bathroom facilities to sit and picnic area neat and clean, climbing four bulletin boards, prohibition, appeal and rule on the trim climbing backed wooden board with carved writing easy to read.

All the buildings identified with the board pointed out the obvious. No visible trash, but we did not find any trash scattered. The reliable guides help us register and manage logistics with 26 porters, cooks, and assistant guide who is largely a Chagga tribe, the largest tribes in the Kilimanjaro region.

The pure natural atmospheres along the 70 km trip up and down us feel so deeply. Flora-fauna we encountered seemed calm is not disturbed. Picnic area in the form of a wooden bench tables, toilets clean cottage and maintained at every 5-7 km journey, 3 cabin capacity of 70 people climbers in Mandara, 148 people and 58 people Horombo on Kibo is ready to welcome.

Guide

Each cottage triangular structure with bed apartment for 4-10 climbers are wooden buildings with bedding and pillows. The cottage was enough to make our bed more comfortable than the tent. In addition, there are toilets with abundant water, dining hall, kitchen and a special cabin guides and porters, plus a solar panel that illuminates every room ready every night.

Good facilities without the user discipline, whatever that means. In the KINAPA guides holding main key in the management of national parks. With the system guides categorized versus reward, they are required continually upgrade our services, natural sciences, technical knowledge of climbing and rescue, and the ability to communicate and speak.

Penalty system, a suspension to revocation of license, apply KINAPA management to ensure no violations occur, such as fuel use is not recommended, disturb the flora fauna, the use of the route outside the provisions, negligence guides, and other strict regulations that could stop the source of their income guide .

Being a guide is the dream of many residents Chagga tribe who lived around the foot of Kilimanjaro. It took more than 5 years to become the head guide, with the highest rewards. 2-3 years experience with a reporter to forge physique, 2 years of education on the job training as an assistant guide, and finally by KINAPA test for certification guide.

Like in developing countries, the welfare of the guides and porters are still an important issue. Huge profits still more absorbed by the tour operators who live in urban areas. Completeness of climbing equipment facility until proper clothing can not always be fulfilled. Until much suffering people and even death.

Two major associations formed in early 2003; KPAP (Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project) and KGPU (Kilimanjaro Guides and Porter's Union). KPAP the initiative of the International Mountain Explorers Connection, based in America, the fight for the rights of reporters around the world, such as the Annapurna Sanctuary in the area of Nepal and the Inca trail in Peru. Equipment rental services until a proper clothing for free; English language training, to the knowledge of HIV P3K which hit eight percent of the population of Tanzania; personal financial management; and to provide education to the porter service users. KGPU was founded former guide and porter, Joseph Nyabasi, with the aim of improving the welfare of those who make a living from the mountain through the same mission.

Demands professionalism coupled with a variety of worker protection agencies in the mountain, making this area one of the most popular natural tourist destinations.

Kilimanjaro as one of "The Big Seven" the highest mountain on every continent in the world to encourage the Government of Tanzania to clean themselves. Tanzania's readiness to welcome the tourists this nature must also be replicated by governments and observer of nature in Indonesia, where Mount Carstensz Pyramid, Papua, Indonesia IDR region, also became one of "The Big Seven".
