According to the story, the birth of art Reog began in Saka 900, the background story of King Kelana Sewandana trip, King of the Kingdom Bantarangin who is looking for queen candidates. Together with horsemen they are faithful, Bujangganong. Finally he has found his idol, Dewi Sanggalangit (Princess Sanggalangit), daughter of Kadiri. The numbers ranged from 20 to 30-person, a central role in the hands warok and pembarong. Origin of writing itself based of “Reyog”, the letter represents a first letter of words in the song macapat Pocung which reads: sense ballad / soul ingwang adiluhung / Yang Widhi / Yang kridaning Gusti / titles roll kersaning Kang Almighty.

Replacement Reyog be Reog mentioned for "development purposes" - when it was polemical. Ponorogo regent Markum Singodimejo who sparked the name Reog (Resik, Endah, Omber, Girang gemirang) keep it as an official slogan of Ponorogo.

The Reog story line is staging by Warok, then Jatilan, Bujangganong, Kelana Sewandana, and then Barongan or sudden Merak at the end. When one of the above elements in action other elements comes to move or dance, though they are not outstanding. Modern Reog usually performed in several events such as weddings, circumcisions and the great days of national. Art Reog Ponorogo series consists of 2 to 3 opening dance. Tenganan Village , traditional & authentic Balinese Village of yore.

Tenganan is a village which has its own unique retreat, the village which lies quite isolated and located at Karangasem. To reach this village by road and is about 60km from downtown Denpasar, Bali. The village is very traditional as it can withstand the current era of very rapid change of technology.

Although the facilities and infrastructure such as electricity, etc. go into this Tenganan Village, but the house and is maintained tradition as the original is still exotic. This is because the Community customs regulations Tenganan have a very strong village, which they call by-awig awig they've written since the 11th century and was refurbished in the year 1842.

Tenganan Village has approximately 1.5 million hectares of land area, when the resorts - another tourist retreat rapidly growing such as Kuta Beach, Amed Beach, which is very lively with the presence Hotel, Beach, Café, and nightlife. Village Tenganan still standing strong not concerned with changing times to stick with the three village hall is dull and traditional houses that lined the exact same one with the other. And not only that this village is also retained by descendants of marriage among fellow villagers. Therefore Tenganan village remains traditional and exotic, although the Society Tenganan receive input from the outside world but still it will not quickly change, because the rules of traditional village / awig-awig have a very important role towards the village of Tenganan.

To enter the village is very difficult, before entering the village area of Tenganan, we are going through a window, there we are not required to pay. It's because no ticket / tickets are sold, but we give whatever donations we want  to village guard , before entering the tourists have to go through a fairly narrow gate which is passed only by one person. Income Tenganan Village residents are also not clear how much revenue, because there still use the barter system. There are many plants, rice fields, water buffalo that freely roam their environment.

To boost their tourism potential,  many Villagers who sell their crafts to tourists. Artshop also can we see once we stepped foot kepintu in, they sell a lot of crafts. Like Woven bamboo carvings, miniature paintings carved on palm leaves that have been burned, and the most famous is the fabric grimace. This fabric is very unique because with a quick look at we can immediately find out if the cloth is handmade. Fabrics include expensive, and only produced in the village of Tenganan only. When the process requires a long time, because due to the color - the color contained gringsing fabric derived from plants and require special treatment. Although many tourists are becoming more and more to come this village, but unfortunately they are still less souvenir shopping. Said the painter I Made a mini painting on palm leaves.

Being in this village we feel safe and peaceful atmosphere, village residents are very welcoming and friendly. We can get around the area of the village and witness their daily activities. At our best to be there at the time of the afternoon, because in the afternoon they usually  had their activities. And gathered in front of their homes, and no doubt they go out and gather with other residents. And at this time we can watch and see the behavior and customs of traditional culture they are very thick. So it is worth if they were called BaliAga / Original.

Earlier, after the excitement of having a direct view Raflesia, Lenka confidently head into the hole closer to the middle of the flower bloom. His nose was pressed against the edge of the hole, and Lenka was deeply inhaling the wafting scent of flowers in a hole 20 inches in diameter at the center of the five petals of rare flowers that bloom at 80 inches in diameter that.

Not happened. Lenka did not pass out, much less toxicity. The same admiration soon spread to other foreign tourists who then went to see.

"Action Lenka and understanding of flowers break Raflesia for this," said Burmansyah (37), Care Team members Puspa Rare (TPPL) Bengkulu, while accompanying an expedition team Musi Browse Raflesia 2010 saw the flower species blooming soon arnoldii in Bukit Daun protected forests, Kepahiang, Tuesday (16/2/10).

So far, Burmansyah said, people tend to understand the interest Raflesia as carrion flowers. Understanding must be corrected.

Lenka spirit that saw the blossoming Raflesia immediately transmitted to us upon entering Bukit Daun protected forests. Pacet, bloodsucking animals that are often attached at the foot or hand, not hinder travel to the location of rare flowers were beautiful.

The location has a slope of about 60 degrees, just above one of the springs that drain water into the River Ketapang. This river empties into the Musi River in Kepahiang area.

Forest is the habitat found in the growing TPPL Raflesia located five kilometers from the center of the village dam Monok, Kepahiang. The journey continues on foot 250 meters to one of the flowers found in the woods.

New walking distance of 150 meters into the woods, Burmansyah suddenly stopped. His hand was pointing to the hanging tree. "That Raflesia plants or called liana," he said.

Following instructions Burmansyah, if the way in the woods was found liana, we will soon see the exotic Rafflesia arnoldii. After walking in the clear stream of spring water, the journey ended in the woods with a slope of nearly 60 degrees. Right at the root of the tree, a lump of reddish orange flowers appears. "It's almost Raflesia flowers bloom. We expect to blossom five days," said Holidin (42), members of other TPPL.

Raflesia creeping stems grow attached to the ground as a flower grows. Along the rod stuck in the wet ground, small bumps appeared six aliases small shoots like brownish-black warts, would Raflesia. At the bottom of the rod lying flowers look Raflesia 40 centimeters in diameter are almost blooming, at the top of the bumps seen candidates’ flowers.

According to Holidin, flowers Raflesia take nine months to grow and blossom. Growth begins with bud-shaped appearance of the wart-like protrusion on the stem. Shoots will continue to grow in the form of round like cabbage, but cloaked in black leather. After nine months, so the skin will peel the petals of the red will be visible. According to Holidin, it does not suck flower insects or flies. Flowers Raflesia arnoldii type that we see will bloom also does not cause poisoning.

The difference became clear when we come to the location of carrion flower cultivation of Amorphophallus titanium in 4 Mess Village, Village dam Monok, Kepahiang, behind the house Holidin brother, Zul Zum Dihamzah (40).

At that location, looking Amorphopallus titanium, one of the dead flowers, grow. Amorphophallus is a dead flower that grows from tubers.

Jumadi (22), members of other TPPL, said, Amorphophallus grow to three feet high and large is more like inverted bells. Flowers also have a monument shaped like a hump in the middle of the petals.

Every time flowering Amorphophallus takes 22 days from bud to blossom. Amorphophallus blooms only one day stand. Morning and evening bloom wilted. Amorphophallus also broadcast the stench, but more like the smell can smell carrion from a distance of 100 meters.

Another reference from Compass Information Center (PIK) said, Amorphophallus titanium is carrion flower which was first discovered in 1878 in Kepahiang, Bengkulu, by Odoardo Beccari, the Italian botanist.

While arnoldii Rafflesia was discovered by Thomas Stanford Raffles, Governor of Bengkulu at the time, along with his friend, Dr. Joseph Arnold. Both found Raflesia flowers on May 20, 1818 on the island width, near the Manna River, South Bengkulu.

Associated with the dissemination of knowledge about Raflesia, TPPL consisting of four brothers and preservation observation Raflesia since 2000. In self-taught, they learn where the flowers grow, growth rates, and liana or stem Raflesia itself.

During 10 years of continuous observation, they sure Raflesia is a flower that grows on the trunk is rooted, not a parasite growing interest from spores. Flowers Raflesia emerged from liana which collapsed on the ground and from the liana Raflesia flower buds appear.

Jumadi said, Raflesia also only grow in one type of liana, liana with flesh that is white stems and leaves with a width of not more than seven inches. "There are all kinds liana, but only on that type Raflesia liana growth," said Jumadi.

TPPL understood as a liana vines growing in the humid tropical rain forest, rain bercurah tall, dark at the bottom of the canopy, and green throughout the year. To be alive, liana must grow close to the water or in soil that contains water.

To prove the hypothesis from the observations so far, since the year 2009 TPPL started cultivated liana. They cut liana stems. Raflesia is a flower that grows with the roots, not a parasitic plant.

TPPL understanding was very different from the understanding of experts found in the PIK and studies in the book The Ecology of Sumatra, The Ecology of Indonesia Series Volume I.

Members Raflesia TPPL trying to be left alone ignorant hands. In fact, since 1978 Raflesia been declared endangered and must be protected. Government through Presidential Decree No. 4 of 1993 has set a rare Raflesia as the national flower. TPPL will continue to attempt to keep the habitat of rare flowers.

"The source of this water comes after the death of my brother," said Hadi told reporters at his parents' house, Simo Magersari Road, Monday (15/3/2010).

Hadi told the beginning of the emergence of Tiban wells. When his brother died, Hadi was in his lelaku (ritual) undergoing in the area south of Malang. We heard the news, Hadi has 2 choices. First, come to the funeral with the risk of breaking up from lelaku and the second is continuing lelaku long lived.

"Finally I decided to continue lelaku. If I push it back, anyway I might not have time to watch my brother is buried," Hadi added.

A few days later a new Hadi could go home. 7-day warning when her brother's death, his brother Hadi prays that these four numbers can go to heaven and be forgiven all his sins. Suddenly, the boy's father got 5 wangsit (whispers) if under the floor where he prayed buried treasure his parents owned.

"It says there on the 3rd floor of the heritage where I pray. The floor is a room used to be my parents," said Hadi.

Kris Three Saved in Floor

In wangsit was mentioned also the case when in the form of 3 heirloom keris has a name, Pamengku Bumi, Naga Sasra and Samber Nyawa. After the offering floated, 4 tiles on the floor are suddenly broken. Curious, Hadi was unpacking his own floor. When disassembled, it was found in 7 rows of red bricks stacked cross compiled. After the last brick, there is taken before seen ground. When the land was dug up, Hadi was surprised because the water suddenly came out of the ground. Water continued to flow despite the already depleted. Heritage, of course, is not found, but instead of Hadi had a round black stone.

Grave immortality "Menapo" Muaro Jambi

Grave immortality "Menapo" Muaro Jambi

Twenty times larger than Borobudur temple in Central Java and two times larger than the temple complex of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, no wonder the temple complex Muaro Jambi enshrinement was described as the largest temple area in Southeast Asia. Unfortunately, this area is like a grave humanitarian legacy of eternity because none of his form intact temple.... Muaro Jambi temple complex is located about 35 kilometers north of Jambi, precisely in Muara Sebo, Muaro Jambi, Jambi Province. Amazed at the same time it seems ironic that the two words fit to describe the condition of enshrinement in the mouth of the Batang Hari River.

Said amazed sticking because of this vast complex enshrinement reached 2062 hectares. Ranging from land that has occupied Archeological Heritage Conservation Center AHCC) of Jambi, people's gardens, to the canals connecting one temple with the other ones. Temples are scattered among the uniqueness of this canal Muaro Jambi Temple Complex, which was found in the complex other enshrinement in the archipelago.

Noted there are 11 major temples discovered and partially restored, among them Gumpung Temple, Temple High and High I, Gedong I and II, Kedaton, Koto Mahligai, Astano, Gulf I and II, Hill Sengalo, and Twins Stone. Stretch of the temple that's not including the 82 estimated temple ruins still buried in the dirt a dozen, or so-called menapo by residents around the temple.

A trace of canals and ditches in Muaro Jambi temple architecture is the concept of ancient urban planning is amazing. 2-3 meter wide trench built around the temple and serve as a barrier, while the 6-10 meter wide canal created snaking cut temples which function as a transport route. The canal was to connect with Batanghari River.

Jambi BP3 researchers believe, the main transportation to the temple at that time using the boat. This transport system is like the canals in the city of Venice today.

There are four channels which have been given a name, namely Canal Jambi, Malays, Suez, and the Dyke Johor. "In addition to the canal, there Kelari Lake, a small lake connecting antarkanal," said Agus.

Besides the canal, there are interesting tales root among people living near the temple, the story of the failure of Datuk Paduka Raja built a temple idol skies overnight, which was asked by the Princess Pinang Masak. Because of annoyance, the king of the temple was kicked up scattered and form small temples.

Briefly, the story is much like the legend of Bandung Bondowoso who failed to build a thousand temples for Roro Jonggrang, or Sangkuriang who did not succeed in making a boat and a lake for Dayang Sumbi.

After being pampered sense of wonder, irony emerges when looking at the red bricks that make up the temple was porous with age. Black shade of green moss strong glue, brick crack that extends even into the temple decoration. In fact, almost the entire temple consisted only of the foundation and body, while the top was nowhere to be tracked.

Wall and gate that surrounded the temple was almost invisible scar, like a gate and wall around the temple Gumpung-discovered in 1820 and was renovated in 1982 to 1988, the only remaining part of the foundation until the waist-high calf adults.

Restoration Working Group Chairman Jambi Kristanto BP3 Januardi admit, until now not known how the design of the top of the temples in the Temple Complex Muaro Jambi.

Undiscovered manuscripts made in writing how the temple, and even by whom. A number of temples, such as Astono or Kedaton, who allegedly built more than one phase with a different period of manufacture was, not co-exist with the inscription evidence or historical records.

"Menapo"

Currently, Muaro Jambi Temple Complex has yet to be explored using the boat, except Temple Bay I and II, because it lies across the Batang Hari River. Traveling over some of the temple will pass a number that has been given menapo red stakes, saying the number and BP3. Menapo-menapo was located in durian orchards, duku, and the villages brown.

Menapo form is like a mound as high as 0.5 to 1 meter. However, first, that menapo-high menapo until there is 3-6 meters. According to residents, the word comes from the word menapo NAPO, which is a kind of deer in the local language. When the flood, took refuge on the mound NAPO small hills. Finally, residents say the small hills that hide the NAPO menapo terms.

Generally, the name of the temple following the name of the temple menapo found. Which gives the name of one village, one Astano Temple?

Not only that, giant orchids, tiger orchids called jambi (Gramma top phyllum speciosum), looks exotic on the tree branches around menapo durian.

This temple had been buried until it was rediscovered by British soldiers, SC Crooke, in 1820. Unfortunately, once again, because the type of stone is brick, mostly found in the temple was intact condition.

The restoration of the temple will be completed gradually and one by one. Since the 1970s until today, the restoration continues, namely the  Kedaton Temple.

That the temple Muaro Jambi. A cultural heritage of the great college in the land archipelago, the natural process of aging due. And, if not guarded, which left only the tombs and the story....

The area was judged the best of the hospitality community, the atmosphere or the atmosphere, the culture or the site, as well as accommodation, restaurants, and places shopping.

Ubud is selected as the best city of Asia with a score of 82.5, beating Bangkok, Hong Kong, Chiang Mai, and Kyoto.

Anything or anywhere in Ubud and surrounding areas that might be kind of an icon worthy of the best tour of Asia that? Is not the atmosphere or the atmosphere in the center of Ubud, which is about Puri Ubud, no different from Kuta, for example, which began stuffy and colored jams each day?

"We are grateful and excited Ubud selected as the best city of Asia with a score of 82.5, beating Bangkok, Hong Kong, Chiang Mai, and Kyoto. However, it also carries heavy consequences to organize the existing conditions, such as the chaos that happens everywhere, "said Gianyar Regent Tjokorda Oka Sukawati Ardhana Artha or Cok Ace at Puri Ubud, Saturday (30/1/2010), when receiving award.

Cok Ace, besides speaking as a family of Puri Ubud, he also Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Hotels and Restaurants (PHRI) Bali and on behalf of Ubud Hotels Association.

According to Cok Ace, it urgently needs to be addressed, especially clutter traffic flow, parking in urban areas, markets, organization and security of coastal and river basin Tukad Pakerisan.

Therefore, the mere suggestion, take a full day for the patient-lice-like atmosphere to enjoy Ubud. Try to "dismantle" street, place, and the atmosphere in the back of Puri Ubud. That's where the uniqueness and distinctive tourism areas is presented.

Location of the relatively near Ubud from Denpasar, about 25 miles, offers a choice place to stay. Through Road by Pass Ngurah Rai and by Pass Ida Bagus Mantra, from Kuta takes only one hour.

By staying in the area of southern Bali, the tourist will enjoy the beach, next to the still strong rural atmosphere fields.

If your wallet thick, you can enjoy the variety of luxury hotels on the outskirts of Ayung River. Hotels and villas in the area are serving a variety of spectacular rice terraces and cliffs times.

Another option, cottages and cabin tour around Puri Ubud. There you can mingle with the community. The tourist lodge owner is also complete even with mebanten service or prepares a variety of equipment offerings and religious ceremonies.

Haven

There are some lovely havens to be visited on the "back" Ubud. One of them is Tegallalang. If you're a fan of bikes, why not try using a bike. Problem rental, do not worry. This is Bali! By bike, the whole atmosphere around will be easy to get caught.

Make sure all the way down Tegallalang, a village located 5 kilometers north of Ubud. The village is a village of wooden crafts which coupled with panoramic terasering fields. Unfortunately, that beautiful stretch of scenery at some point the house was covered with rows of shops or craft shops. Go into the village streets, one of the scrawny villages. The view presented, the atmosphere had caught the eye craters.

Exiting from Tegallalang, point the way to Pakudui, Sebatu. Known as the village Pakudui producing wooden statues, specially shaped Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK). That's where the authenticity of making the sculptures will be enjoyed GWK directly. Sculptures costing tens of thousands to hundreds of millions of rupiah in the village. Satisfied with various handicrafts, prepare yourself to get the spiritual atmosphere of Bali, just 400 meters to the east Pakudui. That's where Pura Gunung Kawi, Sebatu, is located.

Serene and peaceful feeling was immediate once we were in front of the temple. For those of you who came there as a traveler, be sure to first pay the entrance fee USD 7000 (for adult) and USD 3,000 (the children). Entrance fee is already included for rent parchment (jarit cloth) to wear whilst in the temple area.

Www.babadbali.com site notes, there are three named Gunung Kawi temple in Bali. Incidentally all in Gianyar Regency. Besides the Sebatu, there appears Pura Gunung Kawi and Bitra Siring.

If the time is right in the middle of the day, some food stalls and restaurants in Ubud was waiting. If you are a tourist who can eat all kinds of food, pork roll shop next to Mrs. Oka complex Puri Ubud worth a visit.

For halal food is very diverse. Bengil the famous duck or Warung Makan Nasi Bu Mix Kadewatan Mangku in Kadewatan not be abandoned. If we find a formal impression on Ducks Bengil, more relaxed atmosphere presented at Warung Bu Mangku. Understandably, the table on the terrace lesehan held Balinese house compound it.

The jenglot is said to not drink the blood directly. The person places the jenglot near the blood, but the jenglot doesn't even move or touch the blood. In fact, when some electronic journalists to interview them, Holis not willing. "Do me," he said then walked into the middle of his left journalists.
